We all make plans and my life plan is to become a sports journalist and be an athlete on the side, rowing + flag/rugby maybe and doing all of this in style. But sometimes, things dont go as planned so here I am making a back-up plan.

  1. I’ll live abroad in a really nice place. Sydney, Paris, London, NY, or California? One of those really nice places.
  2. I’ll write. I’ll work in a publishing company. Whatever.

Mmm. Actually that’s it. If I don’t make it here, I’ll try to make it somewhere else. Simple as that. Blah blah, I better go to work already.

Things changes; they fall into place.

I think deadlines, changes, and downtime makes a person more vulnerable to the truth. And that’s a good thing. I love sports, I always will; and I still do want to be a sportscaster but I think a huge part of my motivation was to be recognized. What about pure love for it? I asked my self, what will I choose to do if there was no such thing as money, fame, recognition, or awards. My answer was not sports casting. It’s to write and tell stories and then I find myself suddenly back to where I started: film. This was the real reason why I moved from ComTech to AB Com. It’s been wonderful writing down stories in my notebook and I’ve never felt more at peace. This is my calling and this is what I will do. Maybe, being really ambitious and goal oriented has it detriments. I really should keep my values and motivations in check. I got an offer as a producer for a sports channel and yes, I’ve decided after some thinking that I will accept it. To be part of the sports broadcasting industry is something I really wanted. It’s going break my heart if I don’t eventually become a reporter but it’s something that I worked for so I can’t say no now. But I will write stories for film and make them come to life. I will sing even if I’m not great at it. It’s going to be difficult to reconcile with my real dreams but if I don’t do it, I might as well die now.
